Weight Clinic - Pet Fat/Fit Club

It's that time of year again, we have all over-indulged and are making resolutions to get fit and loose weight.

We would like you to get your pets involved too!!

Unfortunately, obesity is the most common sign of malnutrition we see in our pets and it can have devastating effects on their life expectancy......but we are here to help.

Our nurses are in charge of our weight clinics hoping to help you to help your pet get fit in 2017.

Please get in touch to make an appointment with Erin at our weight clinic on 01463 793700

Microchip Madness - The scottish Government have decided that, like England and Wales, ALL dogs in Scotland will have to be microchipped, by law, by April 2016.  We've calculated that we will have about 1800 dogs to microchip in the nect twelve months, and we don't want to be over-run at the last minute.

If your dog isn't microchipped, please make an appointment to have it done, at the crazy price of £15, inclusive of VAT and registration with Petlog national database, and using the very latest Bioglas minichips.

NOTE: this offer is open to existing and new clients of Culloden Vets.

Cracking Collars - Wouldn't it be great to use a collar which killed fleas, ticks and lice, as well as repelling ticks, for eight months on your dog, and so forget about these nasties for the rest of 2017?

Well, you can, it's called SERESTO, and if you'd like to try one, drop by the clinic and we'll weigh your dog and get it sorted.

You could do the same thing using Frontline or a similar dropper monthly, BUT, firstly, you might forget, and secondly, using the droppers is 65% dearer! and the Seresto will still work if your dog swims or gets a soaking in the rain.  So it really is a no-brainer.

Watch Mr Mathieson's retriever having her new Seresto fitted below:

Lethal Lungworms - Dogs get lungworms by swallowing slugs or snails, commonly the tiny slugs which get stuck on the hair and licked off.  We have had the cases in February, but spring to Autumn is the common time, and we don't want to see it!  It can be prevented by using a dropper (ADVOCATE or the latest version called PRINOVOX) on the back of the neck, once a month.  Highly recommended.  We haven't lost a dog yet, although we've been close, and we don't want to.

We'd be delighted to explain more about these three, or to check that your dog's microchip is working ok.

Just ask: phone 01463 793700 or email admin@cullodenvets.co.uk
